6: Architecture Illustration
The last major project of this class was to create an architectural illustration. I chose to illustrate a scene from Venice, Italy. I really like Venice and would love to go there because I think it is a very unique place. I am also very drawn to all the different colors of the architecture of Venice and all of this architecture is built on stilts because of the water surrounding the city. For this piece, I chose to keep the bright color scheme of the original photo. I used the pen tool to create shapes and background buildings for depth. I also chose to incorporate the crumbling edges around windows and the water and boat as well to create depth and a scene. This piece’s strongest point is the illusion of depth because of the boat in the foreground and buildings getting smaller into the background of the piece. There is a lot of hard work that went into this and I am fairly proud of the result. I would have liked to explore textures more on the focal point building of the piece but couldn’t find any that really fit as well as I wanted.
