This objective of this project was to create a magazine cover utilizing a nameplate, headlines, highlighting, and a main image. I chose to title my magazine Ivory Air and have the cover featuring a photograph taken by Vivian Maier. Vivian Maier is a photographer that used film to capture everyday life of everyday people in cities during the 1950's. For this magazine cover, I chose to make the nameplate a bright red with a bit of a drop shadow so it has depth and really attracts readers. This nameplate also contrasts heavily with the black and white of the photograph. I wanted to keep this cover simple and not cluttered so the photograph which is a piece of art could be showcased. The magazine has one headline reading 'The Lost Work of Vivian Maier' because this would be the focus of the magazine. I also chose to arrange the photograph slightly to the right to create an interesting composition.
